Our team approach means that fund manager Richard Hodges has the support of over 30 fixed income experts. Below are short biographies of a selection of the team who make the Dynamic Bond Trust a success.
Richard is Head of High Alpha Fixed Income. He is responsible for managing higher alpha credit mandates.
He joined LGIM in 2007 from Gartmore Investment Management where he was a Senior Investment Manager and Head of Pan European portfolio construction for Fixed Income mandates between 1998 and 2006.
Between 1991 and 1998 Richard managed a number of bond fund products in the quantitative investment department including both passive and innovative proprietary model driven strategies utilising all fixed income and derivative based instruments.
Richard started his career in the debt capital markets in 1986 with Chase Manhattan before moving to Natwest Investment Management in 1989 prior to its merger with Gartmore Investment Management.
Ashley is the Fixed Income Product Specialist. He joined LGIM in 2007 and was previously Head of Fixed Income at Axa Investment Managers (UK). He joined AXA from Prudential where he initially qualified as an actuary and then joined their investment side, becoming Assistant Director of Bonds and then Head of Commercial Lending. He graduated from Nottingham University with a Masters degree in Mathematics.
John is Head of U.S. Fixed Income and joined Legal & General Investment Management America (LGIMA) in July 2006. Prior to joining LGIMA, John was the Head of Public Investment Grade Bonds at AEGON USA Investment Management LLC for four years. At AEGON, he managed the investment grade corporate bond portfolios and supervised the portfolio management activities in the mortgage backed and commercial mortgage backed asset classes.
He started his investment career in 1988 at Strong Capital Management in Milwaukee and spent twelve years in various senior roles in the fixed income department. During the last six years at Strong, he was Head of Investment Grade Credit and was responsible for managing both institutional and mutual fund portfolios.
He received his B.S. in Accounting from Marquette University in 1988. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
David is the Director, Bonds and Head of the High Yield Fund team. He is also the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Distribution Bonds.
He joined LGIM in 2000, after eight years at Scudder Investments where he headed the London Insurance Asset Management division.
David has 24 years of fixed income investment management experience.
David graduated from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University in 1984.
Christophe began his career at Banque Federative du Credit Mutuel in Paris as bond portfolio manager and then treasurer in foreign currencies. He moved to Bankers Trust as a marketer in government and IR derivatives. Christophe then spent 5 years in market-making options before joining Fortis IM in Paris and Brussels.
Prior to joining LGIM in 2008 Christophe was with JP Morgan Chase Bank where he was Global Head of Credit in
the Chief Investment Office. His prior experience was gained with Gartmore where he
co-managed a credit hedge
fund and Fortis Investment Management where he was Head of Euro Credit.
His experience covers corporate, ABS and structured credit markets including credit indices, tranches and options. Christophe has 20 years experience in the fixed income area.
Christophe has an Ingenieur Diplome from INSA of Strasbourg in Mechanics of fluids, and two third cycle
diplomas from
Aix-en-Provence University: one equivalent to an MBA, and another one in Risk Management in
Financial Instruments.
Jonathan is a Director, Bonds and is responsible for the management of the UK and global government bond portfolios.
He joined LGIM in 2001 from Friends Ivory & Sime where he was a director responsible for the management of government bond portfolios.
Jonathan entered the City in 1981 when he joined Mullens & Co., who were then merged into S.G. Warburg in 1986 at which point Jonathan assumed a proprietary-trading role in government bonds until 1994.
After graduating with a degree in law from Magdalene College, Cambridge, he was called to the Bar as a member of Lincoln’s Inn in 1980.
Roger is Head of Active Fixed Income and is responsible for overseeing the operation of the active fixed income desk. Roger joined LGIM in 2006 from Gartmore Investment Management where he was Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income.
Prior to Gartmore, he was at Chase Investors as Head of Global Fixed Income and Deutsche Bank Capital Management (UK) as Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income. Roger graduated from London School of Economics with a Masters degree in Economics.
